consider hanging up some of your clean laundry instead of drying it in the dryer. This source states that the clothes dryer accounts for 12% of electricity use in a typical household. And the extreme heat and constant tumbling of fabrics in the dryer can often contribute to wear and tear. So consider hanging up a handful of your garments to dry. Kill two birds with one stone: save on your electricity bill and cut down on the need to replace worn-out clothes.
